Transporting eggs by car?

wgusto826 Sep 09, 2010 02:52 PM

Does anyone have any experience with transporting eggs by car?
I am a breeder of Rhacodactylus leachianus, and I will be moving from New York to South Carolina. Many of the eggs that I have, have been laid over the past month, so they are still relatively undeveloped. I'm not too worried about temperature fluctuations, but all of the vibration and shaking as the car moves worries me, and I wonder if there is any way to protect these eggs.

Thank You
Adam

A air bagged low rider! LOL. Pillow under the containers and a luxury smooth riding car worked for me once with some tortoise eggs that are not very forgiving when it comes to movement. The undevoloped stage will increase your ods. Good luck, let us know what happens. That is some big bucks to worry about, maybe do it in the middle of the night with no traffic on the road. You'll need a beer afterward, it could be intence. VM
