Clear shed

RLS Sep 10, 2010 08:25 PM

Does it mean anything when a shed is almost clear? I have an 08 ghost and when he sheds it is very hard to see any pattern. Just curious. Lee

The sheds reflect the coloration of the snakes to some degree. With a ghost, which is hypomelanistic/reduced melanin, it makes sense that the sheds are clear, or clearer than a normal. As long as the shed appear healthy and not sticking to the animal, I dont think color or lack of color has any significant meaning.
