Good freakin Day!

RG Sep 11, 2010 11:51 PM

Came home from being out of town and found my Amel with her second clutch of the year!

I didn't think she was going to drop good eggs, because she ate 5 days ago...well to my surprise, I was wrong!

This clutch will be hatching by the end of Nov!

Then I checked on the Amel's first clutch, 77 days later I have my first pipper!

These eggs are HUGE! I can't wait to see what else hatches out.

Also, I saw some really cool candling photographs on-line and decided to get a couple of my own.

These are from the brand new clutch shown above:

It's hard to capture with a photograph, but you can actually see the embryo and the chorion (I think that's what it's called)!

Here is the same pic in black and white...it shows the contrast better:

Enjoy Everyone!

Man!,..that Lambert female is a virtual monster egg factory..LOL!

Killer embryo shot there Rusty, that is very cool indeed!

Good luck with those, and I am looking forward to seeing what pops out of those clutches.

That Mega line Hypo did prove out to be het Amel...I have 5 Amels and 3 normals...I think I might have two that are pinners to boot!

I'll post the babies when they are all out!

Very nice pictures. Congrats on a healthy double clutch. I rarely can do that because my breedings all tend to be so late. My black milk eggs were not laid until the first week in August so I don't them to hatch until near Halloween!

Again, congrats on the eggs. What was the male that you bred to her?

RG Sep 13, 2010 07:37 AM

a "Mega Line" Hypo Het Amel (just proved him out) 66% Het Anery.

He is lighter than any "normal" hypo, but is darker than any Extreme. My guess is that he is expressing just the "Mega" hypo trait...but that is just a guess.

Next year I will be breeding him back to his mother, a triple het. Hopefully I will prove him to be Het Anery...and produce some killer stuff all at the same time!

Below: Here he is with a group of other morphs (Normal, Hypo, Ghost and a Mega line Snow) all at about a month old.

The second picture (aready much darker) he is about 3 months old, next to a light hypo that just hatched. As you can see, he was really light as a neonate.

That's an awesome array of genetics there Rusty!

WAY COOL!!

What does that mean...well good question. I just know yet, it's something different looking...maybe it's not so different genetically, but that's the fun in it...trying to figure it all out.

The Mega Line Tricolor Hypo was 66% Het Snow...he proved out to be Het Amel after this clutch. I will have to wait until next year to see if he's Het Anery or not.

Here's the male:

Here's some hatching/pipping pics:

The first one out was a normal (Het for Hybino Mega Line poss Het Anery):

The second out is an awesome Amel Het Mega Line Hypo (poss. Het Anery):

These Amels are the first I've ever produced, and I can see why they are/were so popular...they glow!

Also, these are HUGE babies...15 to 16 inches long!

One other thing worth mentioning...this Amel female doubled clutched on her own...I didn't put them together again. I guess she was so fat and happy, she decided to throw me some more eggs!
