Amir line fader. Stripes and Calicos

mikebell Sep 13, 2010 09:47 AM

I haven't had a chance to talk with Amir about the fader line of pastels, but I will need to soon. I hope I'm not going out on a limb here, but here goes. Amir did say that these are super pastel citrus calicos. They look like some that had been posted previously calling them Amir's fader line. I'm not sure what the other one is, judging by the head it looks like a super also, I'm not sure about the pattern though.

I think the same sort of thing is responsible for the faded head on the Pastel G-stripe. He has a very faded head and much more yellow. The photo doesn't show the amount of yellow very well.

Hi Mike,
Here is a photo of two Super Pastel Calicos I hatched last year. As you can see, they look very similar to the ones Amir made. I think it may be more a matter of which line of Calico you use, rather than the Pastel line, or it being the result of an additional gene. Whatever the case, they are awesome. Thanks for posting.

Hi dan,
They do look very similar. Just to clarify, I hatched all of the snakes posted here, my male pastel calico, pastel g-stripe and lots of my other snakes have been produced by Amir.

How did they color up after a while? Do you still have them? Would you share an updated shot. They are very different looking now, but I hope to get more color after some time.

What do you think is up with the pastel g-stripe?

Thanks Mike

I'm sorry Mike - I thought you were posting photos of Amir's snakes. Congrats man, that's a very impressive group!

Here's a photo I took earlier this summer with one of last year's girls (now 1800 grams) with one of this year's SPCs (he is not nearly as extreme as the ones from last year, and is shown here pre-shed). I could not be happier with the colors on these older ones - the yellows really intesify in the first year.

Please keep us up to date and post more photos as they grow.

All the best,
Dan

I think I might remember you posting that before, incredible. I have never hatched any calicos or pastel calicos before to know how they look as babies. If mine turn out anywhere near that I'll be happy.
Thanks for the picture, that made my day. Mike

I have been jealous of many of your animals. There are two pastel calicos in the clutch also that were still in the egg at the time of that picture.
