Wow, I havent seen a PAIR at a show in quite awhile. Every once in a while I may see a lone adult, but rarely a pair. Did you get them?? Apparently they were at a good price too!! The Kunisir Islands are quite beautiful IMO and I wish I still had my pair.

Yes I did get them. They were from High Sierra Reptiles(Shannon Brown) and they are proven adult breeders. I know what you mean about availability. There are very few around and many seem to have possibly been mixed with the "mainland" Japanese form. This pair came from Germany and are pure Lloyd Lemke's stock. I have always liked these and ones with lineage records are so hard to find that I felt like if I didn't get them then I might never see pure Lemke's again. Plus the price was fantastic. Check my post below monklets for some pictures of other Asian Rats that were at the show. Thanks.

That is a heck of a deal on what are wonderful snakes ...Asian equivalent of Baird's Rats. Odd that they aren't more popular. Mine is a super pet but unfortunately has been suffering from some odd malady ...seems to be getting better though. They're very calm but also very inquisitive.

This pair is tame. Here are some other Asian Rats from the same show, that I didn't buy.

Chinese Bamboo Rats(O. p. vaillanti)

Red Bamboo Rats(O. p. coxi)

I bought a juv pair from Hamburg Pa. some years back for $180 so $200 for a provien pair is a steal in comparison.
They wern't much to look at when I got them and it s was a hunch or impulse buy at the time. THey are that screamin green and tourquiose now and are among the favorites of my collection.
If I could just get them to breed now.
Mike.
PS- how do I post pics here? photobucket work here?
