Hey everyone, I'm posting this in the ball forum and also the boa forum since it has a little to do with each.

I'm curious to know what everyone does if they are unfortunate enough to get ripped off during a sale or trade. Obviously it's a little harder during a sale since the money comes in first. I'm about to do my first trade, well maybe, and I'm nervous of course because I have to send first. I'm trading a hypo het albino boa for a pastel ball python. I'm not going to go into the guy I'm trading with, he seems decent enough, but there are always things that make you wonder. Anyway, what would happen if I sent first and I got nothing in return? What can I do as my course of action if that happens? I've also read about the BOI or something like that but I don't know what it is, could someone help on that as well? I appreciate any responses that I get, I just want to make sure I'm covered. Thanks.

tell us who the breeder is and i will tell you or someone on here rather or not if there credible! thats about the best i can do for you just be carefull man ther is too many reputable breeders out here to have to wonder if youre going to get f**#$d or not! on any deal!!!! just my opinion regards

Its never a bad idea to ask for referrrals.You can contact them to see if the deal went as planned. Is their any reason that he cant ship to you first.

Let me give you some advice from a lesson I learned the hard way...

A guy came to me wanting to trade 2 Brazilians for 1 of my 2010 SUriname babies.... I decided I was going to give him first pick of the litter after my 2 holdbacks.... and also offered to give him a second snake.... whats fair is fair... anyway he did a few things early on that gave me a bad feeling... but I went ahead and shipped..... 4 days later the guy shipped my babies back... one with a smashed tail and one with a light RI..... and not even a phone call...
Word on the street is... he traded them to someone else....

Moral of the story is.... if someone comes to you.. make them send first..... if anything gives you a bad feeling... trust your gut.... and back out.... there are some real scum bags out there... even the people you chat it up with on forums everyday... you never know... everyone has an agenda

It's easy to become trusting... since you can go years without getting screwed over.... I was lucky enough to at least get my animals back.. although one is on thin ice now...
