Not a nile monitor either. Looks like a Blue Tail or a Mangrove to me. http://www.tcpalm.com/photos/2010/sep/14/262755/

Would be nice if one of these days the media actually defined what "dangerous" means. Oh, wait, they did - "They can poke your eye out with their tails." Classic definition of dangerous, it can poke your eye out!!!
Funny how a 150 lb. Great Dane in the park is not considered "dangerous", but a monitor lizard is. A big dog can do a whole lot more than poke one's eye out...
"Classic definition of dangerous, it can poke your eye out!!! "
If that is the standard for dangerous, then dont they also have to shoot all of the feral iguanas, since they can all also poke eyes out with their tails?
Next thing they will be telling us not to run with lizards. VM
...*sigh*...its ok for dogs to kill and maim people (at least it would seem so)...

"Dangerfield said. “But these are actually more dangerous than alligators. They can poke your eye out with their tails."
What a TOOL!!!
How is that more dangerous than a Alligator? An Alligator can easily kill and dismember.
That does look mighty pretty to be a Nile.
Please, no one make the mistake of calling them journalists.
