Nice posts! What kind of bird is that in the middle pic with the turtle? What a great shot!

The bird is a double-crested Cormorant. It is a neat diving bird that swims with only its neck and head out of the water. They then bask on logs and stumps with their wings outstretched to dry. Another bird that is very similar is the Anhiga bird (also photographed at the Silver River State park). I have included a picture of an Anhiga Bird, Wood Stork, and a white alligator photographed at Gator Land.

I've seen those Anhiga Birds close to the Tenn/Ala state line in Jackson Co., AL. Weird birds, especially when they're swimming.
