Het for nothing Hondurans

robhaneisen Sep 17, 2010 08:18 AM

So I bought an adult pair of "het fer nothin'" tangerine Hondurans from Dell last year along with some hatchlings. The adult pair was young and had not been bred yet. I got them to breed this year and the female laid a clutch of 5 . Only two of the eggs were good but the hatchlings are gorgeous and a great example of what Hondurans back in the 80s looked like. These guys are big too. About 13-14 inches and plump. Check out the pics from the day they hatched (it's the same snake). I bought a pure Honduran male from Vivid last year that I'm growing up to pair with one of Dell's female hatchlings from last year (she is already close to 3 feet) to keep this pure line going.

Looks like the first Honduran Milk I saw circa 1989. Very, very nice! Always liked the clean Tangerines..

Hey Rob,
Good to see those Hondurans are doing so well, I knew they would under your care. Sorry I wasn't able to touch base w/ you this summer, I've been very busy, and just now coming to an end to my busy time of year.
I've been popping in here every now and then to check up on you guys, and plan on doing a post on a few neonates I've been able to produce this summer.

Arkains: Het for nothing came from Tim Gebhard at Vivid Reptiles, about a line of normal Tangerine Hondurans he has and breeds. I liked the naming he came up with, and kept using it in my photo posts of the pair of het for nothing Hondurans I had. And the term has kind of stuck. I always felt it was a little poke in the ribs (teasing) at all the breeders breeding different types of Hondurans morphs.
Don't take it wrong, I still like the morphs that people are working on and pushing, I'm working w/ a number of morphs myself, but I still love to see a nice looking Milk from the wild w/ all it's color and imperfections.

Here is my adult pair of het. for nothing Hondurans.

Here is a Black Milk in the middle of it's transformation from three colors to all Black. Gotta love it's contrasting colors.

All for now. -Dell

Those "het for nothings" are truly beautiful. What you see is what you get.
