Possible problem with baby WTF

ShySymon Sep 25, 2003 02:06 PM

I just picked up my first WTFs. One is almost two inches, and the other is about an inch. I have them in the same enclosure and everything seems great, except for one thing. After letting them settle down in their new home, I started watching them, hand feeding them, etc. But I noticed little white spots (just a few) on the baby. The older one does not have these spots and I don't want him to, but what are they? How do I cure it? And advice/experience with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello Symon,

White spots are a perfectly normal ressesive trait in White's. Some have it and some don't. It is a relatively common occurance, and is only a visual thing and not anything to do with the health of the frog. It's sort of like how some people have little freckles and other people don't.

Best,
~Dave

Dave said it perfect, they are nothing to worry about. When I bought my two, I bought one with freckles and one without so they were different!!

If they are not raised and they are white, they are froggy freckles

Another problem you might have is their different size. They are not bright animals so becareful of your big one eating your little one. I have heard horror stories so just trying to give the heads up.
