Overnight priority is the only way to go in my opinion. The first priority in shipping snakes should be whats best for the snakes safe, healthy arrival. The quickest shipping method possible helps ensure just that, a safe, healthy arrival.

I totally agree with that too. Also, I most if not all live snake shipper's will ONLY ship them "Next-Day-Air". I am pretty sure the other methods are for shipping things other than live animals.
In my opinion, there are just too many things that could happen to the snake(s) if they aren't immediately shipped to arrive the very next day, Especially in very hot or very cold weather.
It just isn't worth the the risk!

Yea thats kind of how I feel also. I have always brought my personal animals in overnight but wasnt sure if others were doing second day on a routine basis.

I hope not.
Like they said...next day air is the only way to go.
just too much of a risk otherwise.

Overnight is the only way unless you can do it quicker another way or pick the snake up yourself.
I recently had a pair of baby snakes sent by FEDEX. The driver as supposed to ring the bell but didn't. He just set the box up against the house and took off. I asked my wife to keep an eye out but she missed him and the box wasn't visable from the doors or windows, you couldn't see it unless you went looking for it.
It arrived at 9am, at 1pm she woke me(I work nights)and said it hadn't come yet. Thinking that couldn't be right I went looking for it and found it sitting against the house, in the sun.
Though it was in the low 80s that was enough to kill the female.
I had another sent the next week and this time I waited myself for the package. The shipping instructions stated to ring the bell and get a signature. When the FEDEX guy came again he must have known what was in the box as he ran with out stretched arms from his truck to the house putting it right where he had put the other box and without even ringing the bell turned and ran like his life was in danger and took off. I saw him shoot down my drive as I opened the door and he shot me a wave as he took off.
So don't do the 2day thing its not worth getting a dead snake.
And if you do get something shipped overnight be there and waiting actively looking for the delivery.
Mike.
