other calcium sup?

mandora Sep 25, 2003 02:34 PM

Does anyone know of any other kinds of calcium supplements, other than the kind u dust ur crix with? My little guy does not seem to like it when the crix are dusted, he tends to spit them right back out again. Since they don't really drink a lot of water, I would think a water soluable vitamin would be out.... anything I can feed to the crix for example?
thanks!

gutloading the crickets with things high in calcium is always a good idea, there are ones in stores you can buy that contain good amounts of calcium and other nutritous stuff to feed your crickets. i feed my crickets all the veggies my dragons eat such as collards, escarole, endive etc. as for a different supplement for your dragon they do have things such as solar drops, its a liquid supplement that you use a dropper to administer to your dragon, i dont know a lot about them because i have never used them, but ask around and im sure you can get some opinions on the stuff. what supplement are you using now? i have found repcal to be the choice amoung my guys, i have tried others and they hated the taste, repcal with d3 doesnt seem to bother them.

I use a liquid calcium magnesium supplement for humans. It has a citrus flavor that my beardies love. I just drizzle some on their salads every other morning. Kind of like a beardie salad dressing if you will. And I also inject it into superworms. When I inject it, I often add acidophilus and liquid vitamin B. One of these bottles will last me 6 months with three adult bearded dragons and it costs around $12 - $15. If you can't find it at your local health food store like I did, you may be able to order it online.
