One more try, V. prasinus cage.

That thread was getting too long so I found out it would be better to start another.

I finally made the Retes Stacks. I made them with 1/6 inch plywood (there wasn't any thinner in the place I bought, but I saw at Pro Exotics FAQ that 1/4 to 1/8 is fine). I used spacers according to each lizard's size so they would fit inside tight. Surface temp is reaching 120F just above the upper level.

Humidity Im trying to keep in the 70% range.

The cage still looks quite busy. I KNOW. I wanted to give them as many options as possible. Each cage has at least 4 hideouts, plus the stacks, plus the folliage and think perches which they can hide behind, plus the background which they can also hide behind.

There are is a big temperature gradient. Im also keeping the stacks just 4-5 inches below the flood lamps (dimmed), to avoid using too much power and overheating the whole terrarium.

Now they have thick branches as reccomended and hideouts everywhere. The thin branches were thrown away but Im still keeping a couple vines that are helping with the other branches fixation and can provide climbing area if they want to.
Walls covered with brown cardboard paper.
Im keeping the UVBs as Im often seeing them basking under it, yet far from the flood halogens.

The only rule Im still bracking is the flood light outside the cage. But Im keeping the top quite sealed and watching close the humidity and temperature (It's been around 4 days since I last misted and the humidity is 70%, temps also fine, my room temperature here is low 70's at night, so is it inside the cage).

I hope I made it better this time.. If not, I can change again (I hope I don't have to)

Much better in my opinion. I have a of respect for your willingness to keep working it. I would leave them be now and sit back and see how they do. Don't touch that cage again LOL. Eventually though you will have to change it as they (the monitors) change but it looks good for now. Now sit back, and have fun with your new monitors.

Many thanks!

I definitely have to stop messing with the cage. But I'll only lay back and enjoy them when I see them chasing and eating some crickets. I haven't slept well over the past 2-3 weeks because of them...

Seems they've found some use for the stacks:
