Normal or an Enchi? Opinions Please

tristan Sep 22, 2010 12:19 AM

I labeled her as a normal upon hatching, but now I am starting to suspect she's a low expression enchi due to her reduced pattern and bright blotches. She also has a "yellow spot" on the right side of her nose. For all I know she is a normal, but I just wanted to get your guys' opinions.

Here she is:

Here is her sister:

Thanks for looking!

what was the pairing?

if i had to say without now knowing the pairing, i would say the top pic looks like an enchi and the bottom pic looks like a pastel.

The father is an enchi and the mother is a normal.

The second one is definitely an enchi. The first one has similar features to her, but not as bright.....

Anyone else care to chime in?

My enchis all have green eyes and distinct bellies - might be where you need to look - I am sure it will color up to obvious one way or another in a few sheds.

The first one is borderline. Could be an Enchi, but it could take a while to tell.

Enchis can be quite variable. We have waited over a year to label animals as Enchis. Those yearling labeled animals aren't your best Enchis, for sure, they are low visual grade, and it can be frustrating playing the waiting game.

I have sold a few as normals just to move them along : )
