Yellow Belly Onyx!!!!

tombarnhart Sep 23, 2010 08:38 PM

I recently had this pair of black pastel/het red/YBs hatch out and am more than happy about the way they turned out.

I bred a black pastel/yellow belly to a het red female and got these 2 out of 7 eggs total.

Can't wait to see how the look after they shed and get a few meals in them.

Thanks for looking,

Tom

Stunning!

I was thinking about a Het Red Female. I think my thoughts just got serious!

From the looks of things in the pictures, the animals look like a black super stripe? Could het. red axanthics be the same as specters?

anthony james mc Sep 23, 2010 11:43 PM

I am sure Yb was put into Het Reds a while ago, know Ralph did it with a Super Phantom Yb x Het Red , thinking it was done before that even. Stripes are fairly common these days with the gene stacking starting to add up into new visual directions!

Thanks Alan. I told you they were different looking. Yeah, a slight pinkish hue to the lower sides around the belly is present but unfortunately I think this will most likely change color as they grow.

thanks,
Tom

VERY cool Tom! That's way different than I would have guessed! I may have to breed my Pastel Het Red to that Blk Pastel Yb female I got from you and hope I get some luck like you obviously did!

Take care,

Yep! That female should do the trick for you...How is she doing? Is there a possibility that she may breed for you this year?

Take care,
Tom

That cross does look like a darrrk SuperStripe.

Yet ANOTHER YellowBelly combo with a dorsal stripe.

I jokingly refer to YBs as 'het for dorsal stripe'....lol
Afterall, a SuperYB is dorsally striped (Ivory...)

Biiiiig congratulations on that clutch.

Another day, another new, unique, beautiful combo for everybody to ogle. mmmMmmm

Nice, you can see the gargoyle poking out. Would have thought the YB would have done something else. Great job!
