Patternless head?

lcsrescue Sep 25, 2010 09:45 AM

Are there any morphs that would cause a Cornsnake to have pattern on it's body but none on its head? I've had an adult given to me and it's rather odd looking, but very cool. It has what I think is the "cubed" gene with two lines on each side. Very pretty snake. Just wondered if anyone knew about it?

I will post a picture when I get off work today.

Cubed and striped can both have patternless heads. So can "diffused-sided" morphs. Sometimes baby snakes have head patterns that become less distict as they age.

Does anyone have a picture of Cubed normal they could post? I can't seem to find a digital camera that works lol. I tried google but couldn't find a picture to compare it with.

The last photo in my post is of a cubed normal. Cubed, as well as many other corn snake morphs, can have variation in how they look.

Ok so now I know he isn't a normal unless they completly change that look at adulthood.....I'm prolly nowhere near on my guess of what he is.

Btw he doesn't have side patterns except for two lines on each side.

anyone else now thinking texas rat, or maybe bairdi, cross?

Well I hope not, had plans to bred him with some females but if enough think hes a hybrid I'll just resell him as a pet. I'm not to big on hybrids as you can see, nothing against them just don't intend to bred any.

That's definately not a "cubed" corn snake. It does, however, look like a corn/rat snake hybrid. I'm thinking it's got yellow rat snake in it. You'll never know for sure. If you want to be sure about your snake's genetics, you should buy your animals froma reputable breeder.

This was a rescue from someone moving out of town, he bought it a petco in Florence Al. Kinda weird how they ended up with it. I have nothing in it just thought it was cool.
