Any chance you could share pics showing more head detail?
I grew up catching bulls in southern CO, and that would be quite an odd looking local. I'll defer to the opinions of others on this one, but it looks more like a northern pine than a bull?

The black and white looks like a Northern but the pattern does not.

There are aberrant specimens in any population of wildlife. Some twenty miles from here there is a population of Black Rat Snakes with red bellies; other populations in this state have the standard mottling/checkerboard ventral pattern. I have had and examined many Bullsnakes from the state of Colorado and there is nothing there, in my opinion, to suggest it is anything but a local animal. It will probably become more yellow as it matures.

after speaking with the person who caught this guy, i have discovered that it was indeed yellowish with red spots. Just a normal local baby bull snake. I guess it has already been released in a safe location due to its "short" temper. Thanks for all of the input.

Is this a posed picture, or a test by Mother Nature of who is quicker, the hummingbirds or the gopher snake?
