Ball Python ALbino, $3,000.00...Burmese Python Albino, $300.00

Can someone tell me where the logic in that? Is the ball python albino 10x more because it's more desirable?

You could get clutch sizes from female albino burmese in the 30's easy with a big enough female. Your lucky if you get 7 eggs from what would have to be a LARGE ball python.

Albino burmeses go for much cheaper than $300. They have them at the local petstore for about $50. Burms produce way way more babies therefore more albinos are produced in a short period of time. The price drops quickly because the supply is so large. Also, burms get so big that many people dont have the room or desire to keep one.

That should read Albino BP $3,000 and Albino Burmese Free!

HOw many burmese do you want? I get requests constantly to place these because they get too big, cost too much to feed and when the females produce they can kick out over 60 eggs. Ball pythons are small, cheaper to keep (hence more desirable as a pet) and only produce around 6-8eggs on average.

Supply and demand, simple.

That makes sense, thanks guys, I had no idea burmese spit out so many babies heh.

I think an even bigger factor than the higher rate of reproduction (as others mentioned) is the simple fact that most people don't have the desire or the resources to keep a snake of that size. In many cities it is even illegal to keep snakes over 6ft, and God knows that the cute little baby burm that Joe Schmoe just bought from the petstore will surpass that mark in no time.

Like the others have said... I would not take a burm of any type if someone paid me.
