a yearling brooks female

DMong Sep 27, 2010 01:16 PM

This sweet robust yearling will no doubt join the ranks of the breeding group next year along with several of the other's from last years clutch.

~Doug

A pic of her shortly after hatching exactly 12 months ago......

And her now!.....

One of her in hand from today.....

I will have a red group, as well as "high yellow" lines. Here are some killer red individual's that are looking great as they mature too.......

Very nice!

I think the yearling was beyond gorgeous just as a baby, with the black and cream/white markings. Now, as a yearling, a completely different look with all new colors. What a trip!! Such a beauty!

Still the best looking brooks, IMO. Seeing all of these pics makes me want another one!

Thanks bro!,....

Yeah, the ontogenetic transformation that ALL these went through so far has just been mind-blowing to say the very least, and they still have a LOOONG way to go to reach their final phenotype's. I can't WAIT to see what they finally become man. The others here are just as "SICK" in their trasformations as well.

Next year you can get in on some of these stunner's!

Wow, nice brooksi there Doug. Man, she is huge for a yearling LOL!!

DMong Sep 27, 2010 04:02 PM

Thanks Kevin!,....

Yeah, they are definitely monsters for their age. I measured and weighed her last night, and she is just over 36 inches long, as big around as a quarter and weighs 370 grams!.

Another sib male was also 370 grams and 38 inches long. Five ate right from the start, and a couple others were a real pain in the arse for the first 2 1/2 months, but those guys are catching up VERY nicely, and from that day forward they too come chasing me down for food when the dinner bell rings!..LOL!

Like crocodiles at a tourist feeding zoo!. This is what they look like when in feeding mode!..LOL!

Thanks Jorge!,......yes, I think you will be quite pleased with those. And of course next year you will get a sweet cherry-picked female to go with those guys!

Don't forget to take some nice progression shots so you can document how much they change. I just love seeing them gradually transform into their full-blown adult colors and speckling!!

When I put the hatchling pics of all of them side by side with their corresponding recent pics, it is hard for even me to believe they are the same snakes!..LOL!

I will do an entire collage of before and after pics of the entire group one of these days soon, and it will litereally blow your freakin hair back man!

You're welcome man!

Yeah, I can't wait to see how those turn out myself. That other one will very likely look very similar to the greenish yellow female I have here as it matures!
