Long Time...

raveness_d Sep 27, 2010 07:02 PM

Back after a little hiatus from the herp community. Who knew becoming a mom would be so much work? Now that my little human is no longer a neonate, I find myself with a little more time to put back into the hobby I love so much.

I figured this would be a good way to reintroduce myself.

Back in July, this happened:

This past Wednesday, this happened:

Followed by this,:

this,:

and this:

Yesterday, we had a final tally of 9 healthy babies, and one dud egg.

(My favorite, after tipping her water dish)

Hope everyone has been well!

Very nice... haven't logged in to LJ in a while, so I might as well post my comments here. Those hatchlings look great, but I have to ask, what happened with that moldy dud? Did you cut it open, or did you just write it off because it was moldy? I ask because you never know what you're going to find when you cut open those unhatched eggs...

Nate
Tried to post a question to you a couple of weeks ago but GerryG said you were on vacation.
So again, how about posting a picture of the color change in that abherant black milk of yours-please.

The link below will take you to my photo gallery... that aberrant hatchling has grown and darkened up VERY quickly, and is almost completely black now. I was actually just getting ready to head home and forage for lunch, so I'll see if I can get it to cooperate for a picture or two while I'm there.

Hey Nate. I slit the mouldy egg after all the others had pipped. Just a bunch of hard-boiled looking stuff inside.

Neat find in yours though!

Can you post pics of the parents? How big and how old are they?

I have wanted a pair of black milks, but not enough space right now.

Certainly.

Here is my male taken in July:

and an 09 picture of my female:

They are both around the three year mark. I haven't measured them recently, but I'd eyeball them at around 4 1/2-5 feet.
