Motleybesques are my favorite morph!

voodoomagik Sep 28, 2010 02:45 PM

I didn't think I would own one this soon, but here he is!
This is a 2010 male Motleybesque 66% het anery produced by Brian Logan that I just got in a couple of hours ago.
Another big part of the treat was that my wife bought him for me and handled everything except for the shipping arrangements!
I'm hoping to prove him out on a big female ghost that I have in a few years.
Thanks for looking!

Thanks, Siegi!
That little guy of yours looks great! What year is he?
Weren't you the first to produce motleybesques ever?
Then Guy Scavone did the sunglow motleybesque litter and Brian did the anery motleybesque litter.
I just love that combo!
Thanks for replying and for posting the pic of your guy!

He´s from 2008, dont think I was the first one but maybe here in Europe. Hope to breed him this season to a very nice Salmon Jungle 4 codom traits in one animal, that must be great.

Thanks Siegi

Yeah, 4 traits in one snake will be cool.
Do you know who the first to produce motelybesques is then?
I really thought it was you...

Oh-here's another sunglow from the same pair that produced that litter back in '08.
This is his first shot post-shed.

Well I can tell you she’s a 100% good-looking motley!
Since the pastel trait is polygenic and is defined by Jeff Ronne as having reduced black, to me it just means a nicer-looking often line bred snake. Yours is clean and light for sure! I think she’ll make some great babies for you in a little while.
I have been thinking about what to say to your post above because I am exactly like you in the fact that I’m a “pattern guy” through-and-through. I have also been looking for a way to make hypo arabesques, motleys and now motleybesques without destroying the pattern. For this reason, hypos, I always try to look for evenly spaced saddles.
Will it work?
I don’t know yet, but I’ll keep you posted!
I have also been rearranging my projects a little bit to not worry as much about hypo/sunglow/ghost/moonglow motleys and arabesques. I’m still shooting for some years down the road, but am going to have some projects where albinos and snow motley/arabesques and motleybesques are the end goal.
Thanks for your response!

well this is the topic that is plaguing me because everyone knows if you plug a hypo into a patterned animal you loose the pattern and I cant say for sure but even with a wide saddled animal I have personally seen babys from this type of breeding a 50 percent of the hypo motleys had pattern and the breaks were nominal and the other 50 percent of the hypo motleys to me being a pattern nut didnt look like motleys at all except for the tails and the side markers
Ive been researching hypo lines and the two that keep coming up are the g line and the red line I have seen red line jungles that were clean but you and I both know jungles and motley patterns two different animals lol kind of like changing the stripes on a zebra
I am also looking at the local breeders here on what hypo to motley breeding I am thinking it would have to be a hypo male to motley female since Quote unquote the inheritance factor being more from the mother
I think I am going to try and work around the hypo gene and just do blood lol blood dosnt distort anything just hate waiting for the super form maybe a bloody sharp motley or a bloody kahl lol
but know this pattern is going to be my primary focus then color
I can see it now Red Dragon motleys lol got me drooling already lol or hell maybe even marron bloody sharp motleys lol talk about a red animal lol

sorry for the babble just my thoughts and the things I hit my head on the wall over lol
