What Would You Do?

livinginvestment Sep 29, 2010 09:04 AM

Hypothetically speaking, what would you do/buy if you came into some cash?

I have a few animals and morphs that I personally enjoy. Not sure that they are the best investment for breeding/selling but they are what I find appealing.

Now, if I had to go out and add to my collection a certain morph that will be the future of the Ball Python market, what would you consider that animal to be? If you had the resources, what would you actually invest in?

Thanks,

Kenny

I'd probably go Calico or Champagne!

A desert and a clown

Without a doubt, as many recessive females as I can afford!

Depends on exactly how much money I came in to. If I had it to blow, I'd pick up a coral glow or a banana, but the odds of me having the cash to spend on one of those anytime soon is pretty much nil.

It would have to be something and original. If I had the funds I would purchase the elite recessive females such as ultramel, lavender, black axanthic, and toffee etc. and wait for a mind blowing male to come out of africa to breed to all my top notch females. But I guess a banana or coral glow would do.
Or, try to hit on a triple or quadruple recessive combo like a caramel glow clown pied or lavender tri stripe snow pied.

and I missed the tri-striped in the list....!!!

....I'm making caramel glows and pastel caramel glows (name?)....so I don't need to buy them....

Deserts, Champagnes, Coral glows. Combos thereof.

It's the present. The future would be putting them together in combinaton along with other great morphs.

I would have to say...
Coral Glow
Nerd Line Woma
Toffee

The best choice is whatever morph(s) tickles your fancy.

Deserts are a great higher end choice.

But Albinos and Pieds? You could never make enough of those, from a selling standpoint.

But still, don't spend the college fund.

On how much money you mean by "coming into money". For some that could mean getting an extra $500 and for others it could be $100,000. If money wasn't an issue or at least a realistic number of lets say spending $20,000 (how many of us that have spent several times this number 5 years ago would love to have that money back now to start buying morphs, lol). My first recommendation would be to buy as many big pastel pastel x codom morph and pastel het any recessive morph as you could. I would then say buy enough males that were of the recessive morphs that you have pastel hets for to give you 1:4 male/female ratio and then spend the rest of the money on the best multi morph males to even out the rest of your collection to 1:4 male/female ratio. the only other thing that I'd recommend is work with a group of at least 1.4 of pieds as you will never be able to have too many of them as no matter what the market prices is, they move.
