alterna getting too chubs?

hobbes992 Sep 29, 2010 10:31 PM

I'll let you be the judge. He's approaching 3 ft and is an 09. He eats like a little piggy and regularly defecates. I guess I'm just a little concerned that he's been bulking up more lately. I haven't been feeding him more than usual. I'm wondering if I should cut back his food? He usually eats an adult mouse 1x per week.

Baby pics, for reference. He used to be a normal size.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but there are two items:

1. Yes, he is overweight. One adult mouse per week for any of the "mexicana" group is WAY too much...

2. No, that is not an alterna...

Happy herpin'...

Hey no need to be sorry. Thanks for the info, greatly appreciated. Mexicana you say? Interesting. he was sold to me as alterna. I guess vendors can't be trusted. I'll definitely get him on smaller sized mice. But it is ok to feed once per week right?

Sorry for the delay, I forgot where I kept their business card. I'm 98% sure that's the right one! 239 694 7716

I got him at the Orlando show in 09. I don't think I bought it directly from either of the actual owners, probably just one of their minions. Perhaps that's why he gave me the wrong species. Either way, I was buying for looks not breed
