My understanding is that freezer burn is dehydration caused by freezing. It is not by itself harmful. It can be an indicator that the rodent is past its prime, but not neccesarily. When you thaw it out, check to make sure it's not spoiled or decayed, otherwise it should be fine.

I have 1 ball python that won't eat anything with freezer burn. She'll eat thawed, but not freezer burned. How does she know? I have no idea but she is very consistent in her refusal of them. I have another ball python that doesn't care. That's my only problem with freezer burn.

good luck
