Backyard Fun in the Sun

DSavickey Oct 02, 2010 11:11 AM

The sun is out today in MA so I took 2 of my big girls out to play. One is a 32lb motley and the other is a 25lb snow. I had the motley for over 2 years and is an absolute sweatheart. The snow I had for over 3 years when she was about 4 1/2ft. I actually plan to breed one of the motley 09' babies to the snow this season. Enjoy the backyard pics. I know the snakes did

It's cool how they do that. I think they are smelling their surroundings, maybe. Getting their head up to smell the breeze.
Imagine the complex picture they are smelling when they do that?!
"Smelling" probably isn't a proper word for what it is they do. Compared to our sense of "smell" theirs is hyper-dimensional, lol.

Yea its funny how she does that. She ALWAYS sticks her head high in the air when she is in my yard. And she goes way up high too. Its funny that she is my only boa that does that. My motley doesnt do that. My motley just likes crawling around. But my Snow will stay like that for 30mins. She just likes smelling around, but your right with their scences. Here is a pic of my Snow last year, doing the same thing. Head held high. Enjoy!

I use to think that the snake just see the heat/sun source and thinks its an object that she can crawl too, not realizing the sun is millions of miles away.. But now I think the snake is just smelling around and all its scenses are just going bonkers. I guess we will never know what is going threw their little minds, but whatever it is I do know she is having a blast....

Yea they are both good size. I would guess and say the snow is right at 8ft, give or take. And the motley is just bigger at 8 1/2-9ft, somewhere in that range. They are both super strong animals. I had them both in my collection for a while and I know both their personalities very well. The snow loves sticking her head high in the air whenever I take her outside. Maybe she thinks she is a cobra, lol. At one point her head was 2ft in the air. Here is another pic I took today as well. Oh, and tell you truth, I think I had more fun then they did, lol... Enjoy
