Different looking Albino...?

aer Oct 02, 2010 12:00 PM

I have produced many Albino Ball Pythons and have never had any that looked like this. We produced it from Doc. Holiday our Albino male to a normal Albino Het female. This pair has been done previously and again since the animal in question was produced without reproducing the results?

it's almost as though she has a high yellow pattern overlapping a peach color with a different pattern.

I was just curious if anyone has seen this before.

She's really cool. I absolutely love her peachy color I've never seen another one like her, though, so I'm no help in that regard. Good luck with her; keep us posted!

I have actually seen one that is very similar. I have no idea the genetic makup of this, but I think in the next year of 2 we might see more like it

I wish I could get some answers on this girl. Someone has mentioned a Yellow Bush Albino? Never heard of this...found a topic or two related to it but nothing definative.

Interresting.
Might just be some jungleish thing going on, but may be more.

I suppose you want to breed her back to the albino sir ?

What did it look like as a hatchling? Have you produced anything looking like a axanthic from this pair?

I thinks yours has something else going on besides the blush line genes.

aer Oct 03, 2010 12:06 AM

Thanks for the picture of the yellow blush...I think you are right there is something else going on.

There are different grades of yellow blush just as there are high contrast. It looks very similar to a male my buddy has.

This female looked normal as far as we remember, we didn't start noticing she was looking differently until recently. As far as her sibs are concerned we don't remember anything out of the ordinary. It seemed like a normal Albino / het clutch. We have had a clutch this year from her mother and father and they all look normal.
I will put up pics later.

Here is one I posted before that is close to yours.

adamjeffery Oct 03, 2010 09:49 AM

wasnt their a ball called the IMG that got darker as it aged?
well maybe its the same thing here except the albino gene is doing its job so its gaining yellow instead of black?
it may not have been called the IMG but i believe it was along those lines.
thanks

yes I kinda remember that,
IMG (increased melamine gene)? spelling ..sorry?

The mom is one of my darker snakes, I will have to look at my old records (pictures) and see how she compares to now. See if she may be showing anything thats been going on.

Hi,

I have an adult male that has the same layering of peach, orange and yellow. He developed this coloration over the first two years of life and has retained it into year number seven. Actually, the intestity of the color continues to increase with age. I produced him from a pair of NERD high contrast albino hets. I recently saw one of my albino yearlings and she seems to be developing this color layering as well. I don't know what the deal is..but I like it.

Thanks for the info....yes this girl started as a normal albino from a ralph davis male albino and a het female i picked up. Her color is developing exactly as you discribed.
Have you tried to use your male to reproduce the color/pattern or have you tried applying the diffferent color to other projects?

Thanks
Becky
