Adult Female Hognose Enclosure Size....

geckobabies Oct 02, 2010 05:16 PM

Hi guys!

Question. Do you think a 21.5" x 15.5" rack tote would be an okay size for lets say a 350g adult female hog?

Thinking about upgrading my geckos to this size tote (ARS 3033) but I wasn't sure if you guys thought that size would be pushing it for a large hog. I know males and smaller females would be okay.. but I have several 300g females already and they are still growing.

Thanks!

I keep my large 650 gram girls in a 3033 bus tub. I think it's the perfect size tub for just about any female hognose.

I'm sure they wouldn't mind having a larger tub but they seem to do just fine in the bus tubs.

Is that the grey or the semi-clear tote? And is it the 5" or 7" high version? And lastly what size cup is that for water and what are you using to hold it in place?

My ARS have the built in, but obviously the 3033's do not.

My tubs are commercial bus tubs (same type FB and ARS uses). I buy them from a restaurant supply store locally. They are the 5" high tubs.

I use 12 oz deli cups and the holders are 4" irrigation couplings. They're not the 4" plumbing couplings. The plumbing ones are to large and the deli cups will fall in. The irrigation ones are the perfect size and hold 12 oz cups perfectly.

I hope that helps.

it does, thank you! Where do you get those fittings? Just a Home Depot or Lowes?

ARS now offers the 20 series tub which is the same height as the 10 series tub but more floor space. They also offer the built in cup holder for these as well.
