Interesting Spinner Blasts Siblings

tombarnhart Oct 04, 2010 07:27 PM

I wanted to post this pic of a pair of sibling spinner blasts to see what everyone thought. As you can see they are both spinner blasts but have a different look from one another. The male on the left is much cleaner and his pattern is more reduced than the female on the right side of the picture. I'm just trying to get opinions if everyone thinks this is just natural variability or maybe there is more to this difference in appearance. There is a possibility that a 4th gene may be at work here but I will not know for sure until further breeding of either this male on the left of the pic or the father of this clutch occurs.

Just looking for opinions.

Thanks,
Tom

I may be off, but to me it kind of looks what I would think a Dream Bee with Pinstripe would look like. Or at least similar. It looks like a Dream Bee with a reduced pattern and clean head.

Wow! Nice work. Orange Dream is the possible 4th gene that may be working here. The father was a lemon blast hatched out of an orange dream clutch back in 08. I just need to prove him out. Didn't get any dreams in this clutch but I did get 2 lemon blasts, 2 spinner blasts and one pin from a lemon blast x spider pairing..So I'm definitely holding this guy back to try and prove him out as a spinner blast OD!

Thanks,
Tom

Good Luck! I think it is safe to say that guy has Orange Dream genes going on.

I don't have any insight to offer, but those are seriously nice babies. Congrats.

The one on the right looks like a classic spinnerblast, the one on the left looks like it has something else going on. It could be genetic variability, but the one on the left looks cleaner and more reduced. Kinda, how I would envision an Enchi spinnerblast.
Beautiful babies !!!

Ballgraff beat me to the punch. The second I saw the photo, I thought orange dream. Very nice, congrats!

Damn I see what you mean! Something else appears to be knocking out alot of the black lines and turned up the yellow a shade or two as well.. Really cool, something subtle that turns out powerful in the right combination, Ball Python genetics 101 for you!!! Neat stuff , best of luck to you, bet it proves as another gene!

Nice animal Tom! I'd bet a fourth gene at play too. The orange dream works nicely there....if that's the case....
