Can a 2 1/2 foot BP push open a lid with.....

can a bp open a lid with 2 1/2 pounds of weight on each side? Mine got out once (caught him behind a dresser 3 feet away)...i put weights on it, but he constantly rubbing his nose around to try and lift it up. i put some weights on it..and its a lockable lid. I locked it as tight as it will go and put some weights on it like i said....do you think he could still get out of it?
