There is actually very little information available for me to make that call, but I believe that this is most likely typical based on the very few live specimens I have seen and the couple of photos I have examined of others.

Anyone with a serious interest in kingsnakes should consider acquiring a copy. It is quite simply the best book ever written on the snakes of the Lampropeltis getula complex.
