My vet doesn't do a lot of reptiles, though she does have some of her own, so I wanted to double check on her. I have a rescue beardie that I took in last week that was dropped off at my local petstore. It has a huge lump on it's jaw, and it's eye is really wierd, I almost thought that it didn't have an eye. Anyway, the vet put the beardie on 1ml of Cephalexin 250mg 2 times a day, and also a topical antibiotic for his eye. The eye looks tons better, after 4 days of treatment, but the huge lump is still there (which the vet said to expect). The lump actually got larger yesterday, but today is back down to the original size. Anyway, is that medication a normal medication and dose for a bearded dragon with these symptoms? Also, this poor beardie seems to be "off kilter", and continually misses when he goes for food (which he is finally starting to do!). Any idea if this is a side effect of the eye problem, or could it be an ear problem, or something else? He constantly misses, aiming too much for the side where the eye is messed up.
All this in addition to the baby beardie that I seem to have impacted by feeding mealies. When it rains, it pours!
Thanks,
Marcy
