Strawberry is a newly proven hypomelanistic gene.
It's inheritence is codominant with hypomelanism.
Allelic to and codominant with hypomelanism which means if a cornsnake is het hypo and het Strawberry, it can create a third phenotype (visual morph of hypo strawberry).
I don't know exactly where it first showed up, but I would definitely think the strawberry gene and the coined "salmon" name are the very same gene. If this is indeed the case, It's too bad that everyone insists on putting a different "spin" on already established names for marketing purposes.
Like there isn't enough things and names out there to confuse people already..LOL!

Yeah there is a lot of confusion over these snakes! I did find quite a bit of info on the Source! (cccorns.com)
Still nothing on origin though.

Yeah, definitely I agree about the past and present confusion. I will check out what more is said about it over there.
Hey, this is pretty cool Jorge, when I glanced over there, I saw the registered parents over there of that sweet hypo/het lavender/poss. het anery female I have that you saw here at my place..LOL!. It was produced from Chuck and Connie of CCC, and was traded to me by Kathy Love for one of my Hondurans last year at the Repticon we both had tables at.
Look at the names......."Brainy", and "Cartman" both on the right side as you scroll down.
I printed up her family tree lineage from the corn registry(ACR) shortly after I got her from Kathy.
Here is the link below the photo.....

Cool Doug! You can copy a pic of the parents and keep them for your records.
I had someone reply to my Strawberry inquiry on Cornsnakes d o t com. Here is the link to that. It gives the origin of the first Strawberries. Very interesting, but just adds more questions on the whole subject, lol.

Yeah, it's real handy man. I copied and printed the records of her genetic lineage way back just after I got her in May of last year for future reference.
I will check out that strawberry link here shortly as well..........thanks!
