I was just getting into monitors and have been around large lizards a lot and was wondering are there any differences beteween the BT and WT? Do they make good pets? what setup as far as enclosure and lighting do i need? All the basic questions. Thanx

The experts say that they are the same species because they can innerbreed, but there are differences. The BT is a darker colored longer species that lives in a higher altitude enivironment with more trees. The WT is a grassland species although both enjoy climbing alot and eating birds in trees. They are both more like subspecies and more different than alot of Austalian species that can innerbreed. They are both large monitor species that can grow into 5-6 foot 20 lbs.
