Got a tough one for you

Please help!! A neighbor of mine brought her new cat over and I'm pretty convinced that the cat had fleas. They seem to have invaded my apartment. The fleas have attacked ME and I'm worried about my bearded. He seems oblivious but I'm nervous. I'm trying to find the SAFEST treatment to get rid of these suckers. I don't want to use something that will endanger my dragon--he's my world. ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated (if it matters, I'm from Iowa--I don't know if it will get cold enough to kill them)

Unless you have animals like dogs, cats, rabbits, or other furry animals the fleas will eventually die off. They won't have any food. If you do have furry animals, get FrontLine for them and they will kill the fleas. Fleas won't bug your reptiles I wouldn't worry about that.

you carpet and cloth furniture(lightly). wait over night, then vacuum everything up...... you may have to repeat it in a few days if eggs were laid by the fleas and they hatch. That will rid you of the fleas.

The borax should be harmless to your beardies, but to be safe you might want to move the beardies to a tub and into another room for the night.

Go with what Cheri suggested. My Mom does it with borax as well when the dog gets fleas. Be very careful with sprays and flea bombs with the dragons. Couple weeks ago the neighbor in the apartment above me sprayed or bombed without telling me, and almost killed one of my baby dragons. I woke up smelling something funny, and when I checked on them all the adults were fine except the baby. She was flat on her stomach and very ill. I rushed 8 dragons outside, and the baby to the vet. She made it thank God, and is doing good, but I'm sure if she was exposed longer she would have died from it. Be careful, and if it is that bad you need to spray make sure you take the dragon out for the day atleast, or safer yet let it spend the night somewhere else.

Hi! sorry about the fleas, tis the season! Anyway, I work in a pet store, so I know this kinda stuff inside and out. Just wanted to let u know that the advice given earlier, about them not having any food if u don't have cats/dogs is wrong. Fleas will feed on any warm blooded animal.... people included. so, if u don't have cats or dogs (or even if u do) they can still make a nice little living for themselves by feeding off of you. And if u vaccuum your carpet to get rid of them, throw the bag out immediatly! they'll just climb right back out otherwise, and then you'll have wasted your time.

yeah, i know that the fleas are only living off me right now--i don't have any other pets besides my bearded. bought borax this afternoon so HOPEFULLY everything should be resolved over the next week or so. annoying little things! i'm used to chiggers out here but at least they don't really invade your home THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! I owe you guys the world
