nocturnal lighting

With fall/winter coming i am going my night time ambient temps sometimes fall below 70. My question is. does a red incandescent bulb bother or stress a snake at night? i have had the bulb on all night with my ball python for about a week. behavior has not changed. he comes out and explores like usual at night.

I think red and blue lights can safely be used. If you really want to be safe, a screw-in ceramic emitter can be used, too. I'd stay away from blacklight though - not certain but that might pose some stress to eyes.
