General rules for caging?

DiamondFlame10 Oct 10, 2010 06:30 PM

I've posted this before.. or similar... but got mostly responses of "when you think it's right"...

When do you usually move things up?

I use 6 qts, 16 qts, 28qt, and 41 qts... Or at least I have access to them and am planning on using them. I don't have racks built yet, so I'm flexible on what I can use.

I currently have 3 snakes in 6 qt tubs.. 1 is 250g so I'm planning on moving him up to a 16 qt tub since he no longer fits in his hide and i can't fit a bigger half log in there...

I also have a 550g female in a 16qt... should I move her up to a 28 qt? It just looks like it may start to get kinda tight in there... She still fits under her hide which fits in the container....

Thoughts?

If it was me and I had the space, I'd probably move the 550g girl to the 41qt, if she was one I was keeping to breed. Not because she has to have the space, but just because she's gonna end up there before long anyway and I'd rather move them once and be done. I don't really have any hard and fast rules I use though, sorry I can't be of more help...
