Dumb genetics question

jason Oct 12, 2010 06:59 AM

Corn snakes are a relatively now project for me, and i have a dumb genetics question. From what I understand, the creamsicle is an amel hybrid corn/emroyi. If a creamsicle were bred to a plain old amel corn, what would the resulting offspring be?

The result would be creamsicles. The albino gene is compatible between emory's and corn snakes. Any albino emory/corn snake cross, not matter what the percentage of each snake (e.g. 75% corn and 25% emory rat snake) is considered a creamsicle. It's impossible to breed the emory (or corn) genes completely out of a snake that's been crossed.

Thank you, I thought that would be the outcome, but I wasn't 100% sure.
