how long can frozen rodents be kept frozen???

I was thinking about ordering in bulk, but it would depend on how long I can keep them for.

Thanks

I wouldn't keep them any longer than 1 year.

I was told 6 months before and if I buy in bulk for 4 snakes... there is NO WAY i can use them all in 6 months.. Maybe a year. I might see if I can find somebody to go in it with me.. I just don't know many people with several snakes haha.

....bulk. If you figure out what your expected consumption is for six months and buy just that amount I bet you would still save money over buying a couple items at a time. Not to mention not having to go to the store. I am currently only feeding 10 snakes (6 balls and 4 corns) and I buy four months worth of food at a time. Even in those small quantities and accounting for shipping it is a pretty big savings over running to the local Petco. Just a thought.

The place that I buy from offers pretty cheap food. The problem is they don't always have everything that I need. Also, because everything is changing so much... they grow and i feed them bigger prey... that it makes it difficult to buy for them... Do you have any suggestions?

Feed the larger snakes multiple prey items.

Example: You purchase a young BP just now starting to eat adult mice / rat crawlers. Buy a bulk bag of that size. When they start getting "too small" feed two items.

When you run out, upgrade to the next size and start over.

This is what I have been doing for my BPs and Kingsnakes with no problems. They don't get exponentially huge like you hear some people talk about, but they aren't small either.
I have a male '09 Pewter, 898 grams, I will be breeding this fall. I don't power feed, I was just lucky this guy never went off feed over the winter :D

Yea, I finally figured it out. I'm going to order enough so that I may not have to do that, but if worse comes to worse I can. Thank you so much for your help

I also have extras so if we get another snake, we have food available for it as well.
