Unique ball from Pied to Albino breeding

anthill Oct 14, 2010 05:18 PM

It must be a recessive gene, but from what? And what are the chances of those two recessive genes from two unrelated homozygous parents interacting (rhetorical question). Desert Ghost maybe? All other siblings are double het. albino pied so could this one be too, but displaying some other gene as well?

I'm not seeing it. It looks like a nice double het, but I cannot say we see the same thing unless we see more snaps of it.

Eyes green, lots of yellow, weird pattern..... classic jungle, I was schooled on them myself this year. Hatched my first one out and first thing in my mind was dessert. Not to be though, it is a random trait

IMO it's look more like a snake who didn't develop well. Underdevoloped or that didn't absorb all it's yolk.

how much grams ?

This one is half the size of the other siblings. 1st shed was ok. I am assist feeding to prevent undernourishment. I haven't weighed/sexed this one yet to minimize extra stress.

Forget the genetics of it, what the H..E double hockey sticks is that giant gash in it's side? I think you need to take that animal to a vet and/or euthanize it. That does NOT look good.

Thats its cord dude. It just hatched. That "gash" was attached to a yolk sac lol.

Not "cord" at all, I've produced enough babies to know that a hole that size in a baby ball pythons stomach; it's not going to be alive for long.
