dbs 1000 night drop question?

ballfreak Oct 17, 2010 10:32 AM

i bought a night drop for my helix dbs 1000 and just want to be sure how to correctly use it? when you set it to go on how long should you have the night drop on for? im assuming when you set it to turn on does that shut the heat power off to the dbs 1000? how long is it normal for the night drop to go on for? thank you.

I let the night drop coincide with the hours the lights are off. It doesn't disconnect the power to the DBS 1000, it resets it to the desired temp and holds it there.

The night drop feature isn't really a night drop like the Johnson control, it is simply another set temp that goes in to use when the night drop is turned on. It could be set to a higher temp and then would not be a night drop. With the Johnson you actually program in the # of degrees that you want it to drop at night.

Remember a DBS 1000 is only good for 500 watts, it will not control a room heater.

I should said I'm using it for a rack system.
Your saying it doesn't turn off the power but
than what temp does it hold it at? Thanks for your
reply.

It holds it at the temp you set it at. If I remember correctly, you just set the temp with the night drop off for the day time temp you want, them turn on the night drop and set the temp for what you want at night. Mike
