vermiculite

Where is the best vermiculite for lahying eggs in and incubating eggs in? Big Apple has chunky stuff and lll has some is there a better place to buy it from?

There are not alot of places selling vermiculite anymore due to the possibility of asbestos contamination, perlite is a good substitute. Other companies make premixed hatching media too

You can get large bags of vermiculite or perlite at most garden centers or feed/seed stores.

For egg laying , a soil/sand mix is fine. I just used children's washed playsand mixed with some vermiculite to help with moisture retention and to make it easier to pack down and stay formed when dug into. That and I used a large plastic bowl buried underneath all the sand, with a 'bank' with a small opening started by myself, leading into the large opening broken into the side of the bowl... My dragon digs into this opening and lays her eggs in this sturdy 'cave'. As she digs out all the sand underneath the bowl, probably not the best method if you want to incubate the eggs.. but my female has never been with a male so I don't' care if the eggs get a bit squished.
