The numbers symbolize what sex the individuals are.
For example:
1.0.0 is a male
0.1.0 is a female
0.0.1 is unknown gender or juvenile

So, 1.2.1 Ornate Box Turtle would mean that person has one male, two female, and one juvi/undetermined (4 turtles)

0.0.3 Ambystoma tigrinum mavortium

yeah its a pretty clear system but its just annoying to me that decimal points are used.
why couldn't they have picked something beside commas and decimal points which have a clear meaning in most of the western world with regard to numbers?

Im surprised no women are yelling foul at the fact that you list the males first.

Well, someone has to get slighted no matter how you do it, and women are used to it :P. And people are used to saying Mr. and Mrs. so I guess it's sort of the same thing.

Brian: Are you sure it was a book? Are you sure it wasn't NOTHING?
