flying fruit flies around my cultures

Mothi Sep 26, 2003 12:06 AM

How do I get rid of flying fruit flies around my flightless fruit fly cultures? I guess the smell of fermentation is attracting the ones that can fly. It is starting to get annoying seeing them flying near my face at my desk and sitting on the lid of my fruit fly cutures. What do I do to get rid of them?

I usually place a funneled jar around the cultures as well as various other places around my house. The flies are more attracted to the vinegar than the cultures and will drown in the liquid.
