Het Red Axanthic, Red Axanthic,

ohernz Oct 25, 2010 06:28 PM

I am a little confused with the Red Axanthic, the HET Red Axanthic, and Amir's Green Pastel...is Amir's Green Pastel the same as a Het Red Axanthic? Where can I find a GOOD description of a Het Red Axanthic? and of a Red Axanthic?

I thought that the Het Red Axanthix was a Black Back snake, but I have seen pictures of Het Reds with broken back stripes. Does a Red Axanthic ALWAYS have a broken pre-ocular stripe? Do they have a "reddish color"?

Also, what exactly is a Gargoyle? I have read that it is a "Super Green Pastel", and also that it is made with either a green pastel and a cinnamon or black pastel or with a het red and a cinnamon or a black pastel...
Sorry for all the questions...Thank you for the answers

Bit confusing on the green pastel of Amir and the Gargoyle.
Can't really help. May be they look similar but haven't been cross ? do they ?

Here is some info from Corey Woods website :

Thanks for the help...
I will post pics of a female that belongs to a friend and that I bred a couple of years ago year to a normal male. One of the babies (a male) has a black back. She kind of looks like a het red...reddish coloration....(her color definitively is not normal), lots of blushing, high white on her sides. I am breeding her this year to her black back son.
Will post pics tomorrow

My understanding is this.
Green Pastel, Lace Black Back and Het Red are the same morph. I also believe that the Brown Back is the same morph too.

A gargoyle can be made from crossing any one of those with a Cinnamon or a Black Pastel.

This makes sense. Thanks!
