Do breeders make gecko incest happen?

guadofreak Sep 26, 2003 01:28 AM

Not to be gross or obscene but it is a curiosity of mine. If you are continuously breeding to find the right combo do people breed w/ in the same blood line? Or do you have seperate blood lines that breed to avoid incest type breeding..I hope that made sense...

thanx ~Eddie

its called line breeding. A breeder will take the babies that have the look they want and breed it back to one of the parents.
ITs also done with dogs and cats to breed out a characteristic the breeder doesnt want.
Thats how some breeds were produced. Same goes for leo's. I was told that if my female albino produces an albino male then breed that male back to his mother and you'll get more albinos. I know it sounds gross but in nature they dont care. Problem is you risk defects. yeah yuck!
