I got my cal/king a snake cave and some moss. Making a moist cool spot. Just wondering how much water to put in with the moss?
Ideally the moss should be partially over a warm area and partially over a cool area - unless you already have a warm humid area.
Amount of water - less is probably best but it doesn't matter. Just let it dry out quite a bit before moistening again. This way it isn't always wet. Is this in a screen top tank?

Yes 20 gal long with a day lamp and a night lamp.
I've always gotten it pretty wet with hot water then squeezed it until I could get no more water out. Afterwards I fluff it back up. It's great for helping with sheds. It's a good idea when your snake is not using it to fluff it up every couple of days so it doesn't mat down.
