Aberrant Eastern - Ode To Don.....

byron.d Oct 26, 2010 03:23 PM

I can remember the first time I saw the aberrant Eastern that DonV posted here. I was never really a big fan of Easterns, but the aberrant ones are just awesome to me.

Here's one I got recently that sort of reminds of Don's

I was told that she's an Outer Banks animal..... I dont know though. I got for the pattern.

Thanks for looking.

I'm a big fan of them as well. I've seen a few wild caught aberrant Easterns posted and it appears they are rarely seen in nature. Hey Byron, I'm no expert on the Easterns but don't the outer banks animals have lots of speckling?

Hey, why don't you get into the hybrid discussion below? hahahaha

I dont know what the deal is with that.... I have female OBX that is just textbook looking - tons of speckling, and I have a male that looks like a generic Eastern. The pair is pure OBX and both are F2's from W/C stock - so it's a head scratcher to me.

Maybe someone with more info can chime and school us on that...??

Let me check out that hybrid post and see what I can stir up...

Nice find. That does resemble my female. Along the same line of thought, when I bought her as a hatchling all her siblings looked like typical patterned easterns. I was told the parents were normal looking as well, but never saw them.

I had 2 nice aberrant babies this season, here is the male:

This female is pretty aberrant as well. I need to get a differnt photo of her so you can see it better. She has two different sections of 6 broken chains, as well as two more sections of 3 missing chains.
