HiddenGene Woma question.

Earthworks Oct 27, 2010 12:06 AM

ok so im sure this has been addressed multiple time but icant find the exact answer im looking for...is the 'hidden gene' involved with this type1 woma directly tied in and immovable from the woma pattern expressed with it? in other words if i breed a hidden gene woma to a normal will all visual womas be the hidden gene carriers or is it possible to produce non hidden gene womas and hidden gene carrier normals? thx...my confusion is stemming from the fact that a platty daddy will produce normal carriers of the gene while the hidden gene involved with the womas ive only seen in visual womas...thanks!

It is mt understanding that the "Hidden Gene" woma has no truley "hidden gene". The woma and the HG woma where two different animals imported at separate times and appeared to be the same morph. Once breeding trials began it became apparent they did different things. The Woma (no "hidden gene" was just a genetic reduced/ banded animal. The "HG" woma makes the pearl and all the other cool pattern stuff that NERD and others are working with.

So long story short there is no hidden gene. Just 2 different morphs that look similar and where given the same name. So the Hidden gene was stuck in front of one to differentiate it from the other.

This is what I have been told. I hope it helps.

The Hidden Gene Woma is totally seperate from the "Normal" Woma, the Normal woma is similar to the Spider and will make combos that are similar to Spider combos. While the Hidden Gene Woma is doing all that crazy stuff that Kevin is doing! So if you only paid a couple hundred dollars for your Woma it's definitely a "Normal" Woma. If you had a Hidden Gene Woma you aren't paying $300 dollars for it! So to answer your question if you breed a "Normal" Woma to a Normal you will get "Normal" Womas and Normals. And if you breed Hidden Gene Woma to a Normal you will produce Hidden Gene Womas and Normals.
Hopefully that answers your questions!

Can the same be for the Lesser hidden gene?

It's a completely separate morph that was named 'woma' by mistake. Think of it as a 'NERD' ball...
