So my two trios of '08 pyros went into brumation October 6, my '08 pair of Pacific gophers went into brumation October 24, my '09 Pacific striped gopher male went into brumation October 26, my '09 bulls went into brumation October 26 as well...so now all I have is my big '08 Pacific gopher who never brumates, just eats all winter, and my '09 Pacific striped female, who is also still eating steadily, and my five little '10 pyros who are still feeding. My baby fence lizards are also still awake and feeding.
Even my toads have gone into winter mode, burying themselves in the soil for the season.
As a result I have about a gazillion crickets and more mice than ever. It is just a real challenge to make the food supply match the needs of the animals.
