Shedding

amickey1979 Sep 26, 2003 04:40 AM

My snake did not shed the portion of skin on the top of its head and about an inch behind its head. It shed the bottom portion but not the top portion. Anything I should be concerned about or should I just leave it alone and let it come off by itself?

I had this happen to my snake a about a week ago. I used a wet q-tip and just ran it over her head, peeling the old skin off. It came off pretty easy once it was saturated. I hope it works for you.

with just a few patches of dry skin, I leave the snake alone and bump the humidity up a little. Just make sure that the eye caps aren't stuck on. If they are, give it a warm water bath and let it slither through a towel to rub the eye caps off.

good luck
